Government of India’s stated aim is:

• To provide affordable & reliable broadband-on-demand by the year 2015.
• To achieve 175 million broadband connections by 2017 & 600 million by 2020 at a minimum of 2 Mbps download speed & making available atleast 100 Mbps on demand.
• Enable e-Governance in key sectors like Health, Education, Skill Development, Employment, Governance and Banking to ensure equitable & inclusive growth.
• To provide high speed & high quality broadband access by 2020 to all village-panchayats, villages & habitations.

RailWire is committed to contribute to the above-stated goals. To begin with, RailWire will reach out to about 100 million cable-homes in India. This number is set to grow rapidly due to the digitization. program which has begun in all Indian states.

RailTel

RailTel extends broadband and application services to the masses through the RailWire platform. RailWire leverages RailTel’s considerable infrastructure and presence pan-India. RailWire aims to provide value-added services in Retail sector, Education sector, Health & Spiritual Lifestyle. RailWire focuses on pure-play broadband and VPN services. RailWire offers content & applications-driven network, flexibility & affordable pricing, all in one. RailWire aims to become a hub of local information, and a platform for rendering communication, infotainment, education, health and community services to the masses. RailWire is all about managing the end-broadband-customers through own infrastructure or in certain cases, shared infrastructure/last mile access like fiber to the building (FTTB), Fiber to the Home (FTTH) or similar technology.

RailWire’s MSP does the Network Service Management including Business Model Operation, Services Rollout, end-partner-management, Customer Relationship Management, Managed-Support-Services for Internet Broadband Services, back office management, billing, collection and revenue share management.

RailTel´s Managed-Service-Partners (MSP) for RailWire

RailTel has begun selecting MSPs countrywide, for every Circle/State. A well thought-out, carefully-planned, and objectively-analyzed selection on the basis of a national RFQ has been undertaken. These MSPs are being tasked with launching & operating RailWire Services on a revenue-shared model.
RailWire is a retail broadband initiative of RailTel, a Government of India undertaking. RailWire is all about broadband and application services.

RailWire’s Local Area Partners

RailWire is an initiative of the RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), a Government of India enterprise. RailWire’s last mile service-delivery-partners are the Access Network Providers (ANPs) in the form of Local Cable Operators (LCOs) and other access network providers. RailWire is aligned & partnered with several hundreds of quality-conscious cable operators located in every city, every urban and rural district and every tahsil, taluk, and village-panchayat.
